K1300R - to work out bracket size and hole positions I first checked the bike was level side to side then used the laser level to check the position of the front headlight mounts relative to each other and to the front frame.

Next set up the headlight on the bench and levelled it using the top straight section of the casting for reference. New light is 4mm wider than original and on this light the clutch side mount is 7mm higher than the throttle side.

Roughed out some brackets in 6mm aluminium.

Trimmed the plastic rear cover on the throttle side - cut-out was made to allow the light to sit lower without interference with the bike mounting point.

Used a 19mm hole saw and a guide bracket on the clutch side - cutout was made to allow the light to sit further back against the front of the bike mounting point.

Picture of headlight after final adjustment.

Now making up a bracket to connect to the rear supports, will post pictures as I progress.

For reference - K1300 R headlight adjustment instructions - may be helpful when setting up the led light or just adjusting your orginal headlight.

Kannst ja jedes beliebige SW Kabel per Schalter trennen.

After a very long wait the plug for the headlight arrived. Rectangular bracket on the right is for the headlight adjustment. Bracket in the middle holds plug in place and is a mount for the instrument cluster loom clip.

Hallo Allen,

Danke!

Installation von aftermarket K50 LED-Licht auf K1300R mit orig.Lampenverkleidung und 2-Stecker-Lösung:
(1) Ankauf K50 LED-Scheinwerfer auf eBay u.A.

Herzlichen Dank!!

Installation of aftermarket K50 LED light on K1300R with original lamp cover and 2-connector solution :
(1) Purchase of K50 LED headlights on eBay and others - various links here in the thread Correct
(2) Purchase of 2 connectors as described by Rudi79 on p .2 this thread Correct
(3) cut off the original connector from the K50 LED headlight and connect the 2 new connectors as described by Rudi79 Correct
(4) unscrew the rear K50LED headlight cover (and do not use it)
Two ways to mount the headlight - Rudi method - take off the rear cover and use a piece of flat bar to mount the light.
The other is to leave the rear cover on and use the side bracket method

(5) the LED light fits into the motorcycle without cutting / Dremeln / ..., with original K13R lamp cover on it? Correct the headlight shroud remains in place and does not need modification.

Questions:
[F1] Does the oil cooler still have to go down a few cm? No need to move the oil cooler
[F2] Are there pictures of the K50 LED headlights on the K1300R without brackets that are positioned further back and higher? Not that I have seen, if you use Rudi method you can mount the light further back and up but cannot refit the K1300 headlight shroud

Hope this helps.
