Today I got a phone call from Bernd Gaebler of Baehr. My 2820 is on its way back, together with the cable that they manufactured to connect the micro and audio-out plugs of the GPS to the Baehr. This should allow the use of a Handy connected to the 2820 via BT.
Unfortunately, they had problems getting a stable BT connection with the Handy they had available, and couldn't really test it properly. I'll have to do that for them. The audio part functions flawlessly, the MP3 player works in stereo. We'll have to see how the microphone works and how stable the BT connection is with a more recent GSM.
I have two available, a Nokia 6680 that I won in a contest, and a QTek. When I connected them here at home, I also had the same kind of problems keeping the conn. However when the connection was there with the phone and BT headset, it was working perfectly to dial via the screen of the GPS.
I'm curious to see what the results will be. It's funny that Baehr is awaiting MY input... It's strange however that the 2820 just arrived in Germany and is still not on the market because they don't have a price for it. Well here's the news, it should be around 1100 € and is really worth it.
