K1300R - to work out bracket size and hole positions I first checked the bike was level side to side then used the laser level to check the position of the front headlight mounts relative to each other and to the front frame.
Next set up the headlight on the bench and levelled it using the top straight section of the casting for reference. New light is 4mm wider than original and on this light the clutch side mount is 7mm higher than the throttle side.
Roughed out some brackets in 6mm aluminium.
Trimmed the plastic rear cover on the throttle side - cut-out was made to allow the light to sit lower without interference with the bike mounting point.
Used a 19mm hole saw and a guide bracket on the clutch side - cutout was made to allow the light to sit further back against the front of the bike mounting point.
Picture of headlight after final adjustment.
Now making up a bracket to connect to the rear supports, will post pictures as I progress.
