Fuel consumption + 0.5 liter?

I have my K1200GT now for 7.000 kilometers. Nothing to complain, perfect bike..... but.........

The BC calls the 98 fuel consumption for example 5.0 liter/100 km. In reality when I calculate at the tank-stop, it's 5.5

When the BC says 5.5 or 6.0 than the real consumption is 6.0 or 6.5 liter / 100 km :(

Do you have the same experience? BMW is to optimistic!!!

I think my consumption is around 6.5 liters / 100 KM. Yours looks like par for the course.

I don't think the consumption is to low....

In the Netherlands it's that crowdy at the road that I can't drive faster than 120......

And 120 km in 6th gear means 5.0 l/100 km.... or 5.5 in reality....?

Well my BC also says 5.5 liters. I have already pushed the limit extremely far, but always chickened out at the end. I did 380 KM on one tank and had about 2 liters remaining.

Fueled up Sunday morning with 23.21 l and had 334 km on the tripmeter. BC said 6.2 l/100 km, but it must be something like 6.9 l/100 km.

Outside temp seems to indicate 2 degrees more than what it is on the other hand...

My K1200GT has a average of 6,8 as bordcomputer, but 7,6 real for 2000km.

BC calculates the average since the last RESET.
If you do not regularly reset, (for instance over a 500 km long period) the indication will average out to a certain value, whereby it does not alter irrespective whether you drive fast or slow the last km's
It is apperantly NOT an actual fuel consumption indication. :(

Sounds like this is causing confusion, and seems VERY usefull fuction for BMW to add in the BC menu:
- 1 function for average fuel consumption (resettable)
- 1 function for actual fuel consumption

(Even the FJR1300 of 2006 has both possibilities)

My consumption is round about 1 Liter higher as the BC shows. Even when i reset all after the fuelstop. It shows between 4,1 and 4,6 Liters. My consumption is calculatet 5,3 Liters.
