Michael,
Maybe you will want to add this to the long list of grievences about the GT. They absolutely MUST do something about the difficulty of putting the bike on the centerstand when fully loaded. There is just no satisfactory handgrip to be had close enough to the censterstand.
I have had a consultation with the orthopedic surgeon that treats my son, and the rest of the family. My right side Achilles heel is BADLY swollen and extremely painful. That occurred during my Croatia ride, when I had to put the GT on the centerstand, with the 3 cases loaded, for tanking. At one point, I pulled something in my back, but that's ok. However my ankle is still terribly sore and swollen.
I got gel padded heels to absorb shocks while I walk. Tomorrow I am scheduled for a Magnetic Reasonance of the Achilles tendon, with a view an a diagnosis of either a tendinitis, which is not a huge problem to treat. Aternatively, it could be a tendinosis, which will require an operation. That is NOT good.
Can you ask BMW if they could do the same type of handle on the GT then they have of the RT ? This is a bad thing, worse then bad throttle settings.
